PAKIL, Laguna – A deranged man chopped off the neck of his 7-month-old son yesterday morning in Sitio Pingas, Bgy. Taft, this town.

The horrible killing occurred in front of the other family members who were stunned to see suspect Vicente Abogne, a farmer, hacking the baby in the neck.

Abogne had just come out of a mental hospital in Manila after a few months of confinement.

The gruesome crime occurred around 10:30 a.m. The suspect, for unknown reason, suddenly got a bolo and struck the infant in the neck then fled.

Police led by Sr. Insp. Jojo Sabeniano, town’s police chief, responded to the area and found the infant bleeding and dead. 

After an hour of pursuit operation, Abogne was arrested at a hilly part of the barangay. He is now detained at the Pakil jail.
