One killed, two injured in shooting incident in Manila

MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) — A man was killed while two others were injured after two motorcycle-riding men went on a shooting spree in Manila before dawn Wednesday.

One of the suspects was also rushed to a hospital after bystanders caught up with him and beat him up, local media reported.

The incident occurred near the corner of Nicolas and Yakal Street in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

Killed in the incident was Jesus Tamayo, a resident who was shot in the chest. Wounded were village councilor Richard Panaligan, who was shot in the foot; and a six-year-old girl identified only as Angelica, who was hit in the leg.

Panaligan and Angelica were rushed to the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
