An alleged member of the “Danny Ilokano Group” involved in a series of robberies victimizing mostly Indian traders was arrested in Valenzuela City last Monday.

Newly-installed city police commander Senior Superintendent Rhoderick Armamento said Michael Sison, alias “Popoy”, 34, of No. 19 Catleya St., Bahay Pag-asa, Barangay Maysan, Valenzuela City was nabbed while waiting for prospective victims along San Lazaro St., Barangay Canumay around 10:20 a.m.

Sison is reportedly the trusted man of Danny Castro, the leader of the notorious robbery group.

Armamento said a concerned citizen tipped off members of the Police Community Precinct 1 after the suspect was spotted in the area. Sison tried to escape when he saw the policemen but was arrested after a brief chase.

Intelligence division head Chief Inspector Muammar Mukaram said Sison is Castro’s constant companion in robbing Indian traders engaged in money lending business.

“Siya rin ang driver ng motor ni Castro kapag nangho-holdap sila in tandem,” Mukaram added.
