ANGELES City — A suspected motorcycle-riding robber being sought by the police was finally arrested on Sunday after victimizing a Chinese restaurant in Bgy. Balibago here.

Chief Insp. Romeo Castro of Police Station 4 identified the suspect as Jessie Salunga Bordon, 32, of Mawaque Resettlement Center in nearby Mabalacat City.

Bordon was arrested after he was subdued by the manager and employees of Suzhou Dimsum Huaxing Food House, which he robbed.

Investigation showed the suspect parked his black Honda TMX motorcycle without plate number in front of the restaurant at around 3:30 a.m., entered the front door and announced the holdup while holding a cal. .22 handgun.

The suspect hit the head of Qihua Fan, manager of the restaurant, with the handgun and grabbed his cellphone worth P10,000 and took the P2,120 from the counter and rushed to the door to escape.

But he was chased and jumped by Qihua and was able to grab the suspect’s handgun. The other employees of the restaurant then rushed to help subdue the suspect.         Bystanders outside saw the commotion, rushed inside and mauled Bordon, who could have died had not policemen on patrol saw what was going on and stopped the bystanders from further mauling the suspect.

Bordon was arrested and is facing charges of robbery with violence, illegal possession of firearms and violation of election gun ban.

At Police Station 4, the owner of Lucky Rose Minimart also located in Bgy. Balibago arrived and positively identified the suspect as the person who robbed her establishment last Nov. 5.

Police Regional Office 3 director Chief Supt. Raul Delfin Petransanta has directed Central Luzon policemen to run after motorcycle-riding killers and robbers who have been victimizing businessmen and ordinary people.
