A MAN who had been recently released from jail after serving time for a case of robbery ended up dead, allegedly in the hands of his own gangmates who shot him yesterday morning in San Andres Bukid, Manila.
Dead on the spot with a bullet wound in the head and body was Zacarias Marquez, 37, of 550 Corcuera St., Tondo, Manila.
PO2 Michael Marragun of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section said the victim, who had just been released from the National Bilibid Prisons last Oct. 28 where he served sentence for robbery, was shot dead at 8:30 a.m. at the corner of Chromium Allet and Estela Streets in San Andres Bukid. Police said the victim had been in and out of jail for various cases.
Barangay Kagawad Roberto Cudal told the police that prior to the incident, the victim was seen talking to two men, while his two companions served as lookouts.
Moments later, the victim was arguing with the two men he was talking to after which shots rang out.
The suspects were already gone when the victim’s companions ran to him and he was already dead.
An investigation is underway to establish what happened, who the suspects are and what their motive is for killing the victim.
