A Department of Interior and Local Government officer who had been missing for nearly a week was found dead Wednesday, inside the “compartment” of a car in Naga City in Camarines Sur.
The car in which the body of Iris Napere, 32, was found in was car parked near a hotel along Magsaysay Avenue in Naga City, radio dzBB reported Wednesday night. Napere was a DILG officer assigned to Bombon town in Camarines Sur.
Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police has taken into custody a DILG employee identified as Eric Medina, who reportedly admitted to killing Napere.
“Sinakal daw po,” the dzBB report quoted a sister of the victim as saying.
Investigators were still quizzing Medina on the motive for killing Napere as of posting time.
Police also cited the claims of witnesses who they said saw Napere and Medina arguing inside a car before Napere disappeared.
Napere was last seen March 8 but did not report for work at the office in Bombon that day.
A separate report on Bombo Radyo said Medina admitted killing Napere March 9. It said an initial investigation showed he left the victim’s body inside the car (UCE-821). — DVM, GMA News
