Killed was Susan Borongan, 38, married. She succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in the different parts of her body. The wounded boy was identified as Jeremiah. He sustained a gunshot wound in the left leg.

A police report disclosed that the deranged man identified as Rogelio Arteves, 61, widow, armed himself with a shotgun and went berserk about 6 p.m.. He started shooting at his neighbors. Arteves’ mental illness was caused by malaria.

Dorongan and her son were walking on their way home when they were hit by pellets fired by Arteves. Residents rushed them to the hospital, where the woman was declared dead on arrival. Geremia was under medical attention.

Arteves eluded arrest before the arrival of responding policemen. However, policemen was able to recover the shot gun used by Arteves.
