RIDING-in-tandem robbers strike anew in San Juan, this time victimizing a personal assistant of television host-comedian Willie Revillame yesterday morning.

The incident, which occurrred at around 8 p.m. on P. Guevarra St., Bgy. Little Baguio, San Juan City, was the third in San Juan City in a span of one week.

The victim was identified as Jose Luis Martinez, 47, married, of Ivy Town Homes, Ibuna St., Bgy. Onse, San Juan City, according to Insp. Nicanor Lambino, chief of San Juan Police Investigation Unit.

Martinez was rushed to Cardinal Santos Medical Hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds in the body.

Lambino said one of the unidentified gunmen was wearing black T-shirt, maong walking shorts, black helmet while the other was wearing gray polo T-shirt and bull cap.

Prior to the incident, Martinez was about to proceed in a nearby laundry shop when the two suspects approached and shot him several times, hitting him in the body. Although wounded, he was able to to the other side of the street.

A security guard in one of the establishments in the area, Herbert Bacal, 23,  told police that he heard a gunfire and later saw the bloodied victim running.

The witness said he hid beside a parked vehicle in front of the guardhouse but the suspects poked a gun at him.

When the suspects noticed some people around, they immediately fled on a motorcycle.

The victim went back to his house and shouted for help. PO2 Roel Rey took him to the hospital.

Lambino said they are eyeing robbery as the motive behind the gun attack.

On July 20, riding-in-tandem gunmen ambushed Letran Knights point guard Franza Dysam and his girlfriend Joan Sordan. Dysam was wounded while his gf was killed. Three days later, suspects wearing Philippine National Police (PNP) uniform struck again and tried to rob a derby financier of Php250,000 on July 23.
