MANILA, Philippines — Two heavily tattooed men who took P3,000 in cash and two chickens from an establishment were killed on Sunday evening in a shootout with policemen in Manila.
The slain men have yet to be identified, according to the police.
One was described by Manila Police District (MPD) homicide investigators to be in his late 20s, at least 5’ 5” tall while the other was in his early 30s and 5’ 9” in height. Both had numerous tattoos all over their bodies.
The two were dressed in white T-shirts worn over denim pants. Police said they suspected the two were members of the “Waray-Waray” robbery gang.
In his report, MPD Raxabago Station 1 chief Superintendent Ernesto Tendero said the robbery took place at around 6:40 p.m. on Sunday on Capulong Street near the corner of Road 10 in Tondo.
Tendero said Efren Cruz and Edgardo Banting were manning the Baliwag Lechon Manok stand in the area when two men approached them and at gunpoint, divested them of the establishment’s earnings of P3,000. They also took two roasted chicken.
