A suspected robber was shot dead in a clash with police in Manila’s Tondo district shortly after midnight Friday.

Radio dzBB reported early Saturday the suspect tried to fire at pursuing cops, but he was outgunned.

Police said the suspect, who was not immediately identified, was flagged down for acting suspiciously near Moriones Street.

He allegedly tried to run and then fire at his pursuers, who fired back and killed him.

Recovered from the suspected robber were two ladies’ bags he may have taken from victims in his last successful heist, authorities said. — LBG, GMANews.TV
