MANILA, Philippines – An alleged supporter of Maguindanao Governor-elect Esmael Mangudadatu was shot dead Saturday morning in Sultan Kudarat.

Basid Mayonting, alias Mingo, was shot dead at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Norte Dame of Tacurong College.

Mayonting was riding his motorcycle to attend a wedding when he was shot by a suspect on board another motorcycle.

Police said Mayonting died from a gunshot wound to the head.
