POLICE early morning yesterday captured a suspected member of the Moro National Liberation Front wanted for his involvement in the infamous Zamboanga City siege that killed hundreds of people.

Daniel Xavier was caught near a bus terminal in Bgy. Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City by combined intelligence agents of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, the Police Regional Office 10 and the Philippine Army.

PNP chief Director General Alan LM Purisima said the suspect is one of the MNLF rebels ordered arrested by a Zamboanga City judge in connection with the Zamboanga City attacks where rampaging MNLF gunmen killed troops and innocent civilians and burned some 10,000 homes before they were finally stopped by soldiers and policemen following nearly two weeks of heavy fighting.

The suspect was taken to the 10th Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit headquarters for documentation prior to his turnover to the court.
