The victim was identified as Alvin Santander Naong, 33, married, and a resident of the said barnagay.

He suffered three stab wounds on the stomach and chest was rushed to Zamboanga City Medical Center (CMC) for medical treatment.

Police identified the suspects as Mario Herbito Sanches and his companion, Boy Bo, both of legal age, and resident of the same place.

Initial investigation conducted by the responding policemen of Sinununc Police Station disclosed that the victim confronted Sanches regarding the allegation that the former’s children were responsible for stoning the suspect’s residence.

Police said that while having a verbal confrontation, Sanches immediately stabbed that victim twice hitting his stomach then followed by Bo, also hitting his chest.

Barangay tanods and officials of Upper Calarian responded at the crime scene and arrested one of the two suspects.

The arrested suspect is presently detained at Sinunuc Police Station for proper custody. A manhunt operation was conducted for the possible arrest of the other suspect, who remains at large.
