A MAN was shot to death by an official of Barangay Malabago, Badian, Cebu, Sunday night, police said.
According to Badian Police Station, Ariel Avenido, 38, a councilor of the said barangay, shot Alexander Election, 34, who was hit on his left breast and abdomen.
Initial investigation shows that the victim was last seen at the barangay’s basketball court watching a tournament before he was shot at Malabago’s national highway.
The responding team headed by SPO1 Andrew Canonego found two slugs of 45 caliber pistol and one empty shell of cal. 45 at the crime scene.
SPO1 Danio Peopiz of Badian Police Station said the victim was rushed to Badian District Hospital but later died when he was brought to Cebu City for more treatment.
The motive behind the shooting is still undetermined.
The Badian police are conducting hot pursuit operations for the possible arrest of the suspect, said SPO1 Peopiz in a phone interview.
“Pasakaan jud siya ug kaso nga tukma sa sala nga iyang gibuhat (He will face appropriate charges),” added
