Man shot dead in sleep in Carcar; another mauled to death in Toledo

CEBU, Philippines – A 36-year-old man was shot dead outside his house in Carcar City dawn last Monday while another man was found dead in the middle of the road in Toledo City evening last Sunday.
In Carcar, police identified the fatality as Hilarion Llanos, 36. He was sleeping on a bamboo bed in front of his house around 3:45 am in Barangay Poblacion II, Carcar City when the suspect arrived and shot him. He sustained a gunshot wound on his forehead.
He was brought to the Carcar District Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival. His remains now lie at the Tupaz Funeral Homes.
Meanwhile, hours before Llanos was shot, Alberto Alimento was found sprawled lifeless in the middle of the street in sitio Sibogay, Barangay Cantabaco, Toledo City.
Alimento, 55, had bruises all over his body. An investigation led by SPO2 Dantes Talandron of the Toledo Police Station said a witness saw Alimento mauled to death by a still unidentified assailant around 9:30 pm.
Police are still investigating both incidents to determine the motive of the crimes and the possible arrest of the suspects. – Gabriel C. Bonjoc/JMO (FREEMAN NEWS)
