Man shot dead by intruder inside home in Manila

MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) – A man, 48, was shot dead in his own home by an unidentified intruder in Manila Monday night, police said Tuesday.

Rodel Obas, of Block 5 Baseco Compound in Port Area, had just eaten dinner with his stepson, when the gunman barged into his home and repeatedly shot him at 6:45 p.m., police with the Manila Police District (MPD) homicide section said.

Obas died instantly from multiple bullet wounds in the body while the attacker fled. Obas’ body was later brought to the St. Harold Funeral Parlor for autopsy.

But, the victim’s stepson remembered how the gunman looked, police said.

Investigation into the case in underway.
