A MAN died after being mauled by one of his drinking mates the other day in Malate, Manila.

Manuel Diorico, 41, of 1226 Gonzalo St., Malate, died in his home when, instead of being brought to a hospital, he was brought home by some companions. The suspect, identified as Fernando Ocampo, 50, of 1219 Meding St., Malate, is now detained after being arrested by barangay kagawads during a follow-up operation.  

SPO2 Ronald Gallo of the Manila Police District (MPD)-Homicide Section said the mauling incident took place at around 10:30 p.m. on Meding  Street.     

Prior to it, the victim and the suspect were having a drinking session with friends when they suddenly engaged in a heated argument and the suspect started mauling the victim.  

Their drinking mates pacified them and then brought the victim home where he was found by his brother Arnel already dead
