COTABATO – A man died after his mentally ill cousin ran amok in Parang, Maguindanao on Tuesday morning.

Nasser Saligan, 25, was shot several times by his cousin Nasser Malausip using an M16 rifle in Barangay Gadungan.

Parang Police said the victim had just arrived from work when the shooting occurred.

After shooting his cousin, Malausip then left their house and shot a neighbor identified as Musib Bananan.

Bananan was wounded after being shot in the stomach. He is now recovering in the hospital.

Authorities failed to recover the firearm used by the suspect, who was arrested and detained at the Parang Police station.
