A MAN was shot dead by his neighbor while on his way to the church to attend an Mass  in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental early yesterday morning.

The victim was identified as Butch Chiu, 38, resident of Grandville Subdivision, Cadiz City.

Policemen are now hunting down the suspect, Mark Paul Quitchon, reportedly Chiu’s neighbor.

Quitchon was positively identified by the victim’s wife Ailyn who was with Butch when the shooting occurred.

Reports reaching Camp Crame showed the incident took place a few meters away from the church.

It was learned that the victim was onboard his motorcycle with his wife on their way to the church when the suspect shot him.

The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment but he was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physician while the suspect fled towards unknown direction.

Initial investigation revealed that the incident has something to do with old grudge between the suspect and the victim.

It was learned that the victim accused the brother of the suspect as the one who shot his son.

Authorities are now conducting follow-up investigation to the incident.
