A man was killed while his son was fighting for his life in the hospital after five men shot them in Barangay Logan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay last Sunday afternoon.
Killed was Henry Pangilayan, 47, married. Wounded was Eddie, 25.
Police identified one of the five gunmen as Gerald Fernandez of Domandan, Ipil.
Investigation disclosed that Pangilayan and his son were at their residence when gunmen emerged from bushes and opened fire on them and then fled to unknown direction.
Henry succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in the different parts of the body while Eddie sustained two gunshot wounds. They were rushed to a hospital where Henry was declared dead on arrival.
Eddie underwent treatment at the Ipil Medical Center. Police launched a manhunt operation for the gunmen which resulted to the arrest of Fernandez.
