A 62-YEAR-OLD man was stabbed dead by his neighbor in barangay Monserat, Pilar town in Camotes Island, Cebu.
Police said a personal grudge was the likely motive when Abello Mascariola, 25, stabbed Alejandro Sondo with a kitchen knife around 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Sondo suffered stab wounds in the chest and back. He died before reaching the hospital.
The suspect remains at large, police said.
Insp. Bernabe Coyoca, chief of Pilar police, said Sondo was drinking with friends about 100 meters from his home when Mascariola arrived and stabbed the victim with a kitchen knife.
Coyoca said the two men have been at odds because of a previous incident where Sondo allegedly hacked Mascariola’s cousin./Correspondent Joy Cherry S. Quito
