MANILA – A man was arrested for hacking to death his father-in-law and wounding his mother-in-law in Lipa City, Batangas last Wednesday.

Anthony Linatoc, 36, was arrested by policemen and village watchmen who responded to the incident.

“Sumibat pa siya papuntang national highway, doon na siya nahuli,” said Superintendent Jacinto Malinao, chief of the Lipa City Police.

Linatoc hacked his in-laws Cipriano and Anita Gabayno inside their home in Barangay Bugtong na Pulo in Lipa City.

His 58-year-old father-in-law died in the incident.

Police said the suspect and his wife Jeadryl encountered a family problem. The woman left him and temporarily moved in with her parents.

On Wednesday night, Linatoc went to his in-laws’ home and a confrontation led him to hack the victims.
