A 38-YEAR-OLD man was critically wounded after he was hacked in the head by his neighbor in barangay Bangkal, Lapu-Lapu City.

 

Police said the victim, Joviniano Parages, and the suspect, Marquin Gallos, 30, have been at odds for a long time. Police said the two men argued when they chanced upon each other along a road early morning yesterday. Police said tried to draw a knife from his waist but before he could do so, the suspect whipped out a bolo and hacked him. Gallos escaped after the incident.

The victim was taken to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital then transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City. An operation to arrest Gallos is in progress, police said./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
