BALIWAG, Bulacan – Local police arrested a 55-year-old man who was earlier reported for indiscriminately firing his gun and trying to kill three persons in Bgy. Bagong Nayon, town police chief Supt. Rizalino Andaya announced yesterday.

In his report to Bulacan provincial director officer-in-charge Sr. Supt. Joel Sabio Orduña, Andaya identified the arrested suspect as Jose Ubaldo, alias Kuba, 55, single, jobless and a resident of NIA Road, Maligaya St., Zone 4, Bgy. Bagong Nayon, Baliwag, Bulacan.

According to the victims, namely Mirasol Jacinto, 24, her daughter and niece,  Ma. Noren, 15, and John Mark Romarate, 5, all residents of 147 NIA Road, Maligaya St., Zone 4, Bgy. Bagong Nayon, at around 2 p.m. last Wednesday, the suspect, with no apparent reason aimed the improvised 12-gauge shotgun at them and shot them twice  but missed.

A concerned citizen who witnessed the incident immediately reported it to the Baliwag Police Station.

Andaya dispatched a team headed by SPO3 Victor M. Alberto to verify the report and for possible arrest of the suspect.

Upon arrival at the place, the team chanced upon the suspect while carrying the improvised 12-gauge shotgun (sumpak).  Sensing the presence of the team, the suspect ran away. However, the team gave chased until he was arrested.

The team was able to confiscate the 12-gauge  shotgun without serial number, three live ammunition for shotgun, and one jungle knife tucked on his waist.

The team recovered two empty shells for shotgun. The evidence recovered were  brought to the police station for further investigation. The suspect is now under police custody.
