A police report identified the fatality as Kulshid Unaid, married.  He sustained a bullet on the head.

The report said that Unaid was driving a jeepney on the way to the city proper from Arena Blanco about 7 pm when a male passenger ordered him to stop the vehicle at Kilometer 6 in Mampang, before he alighted, the man shot Unaid in the head. 

The driver was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

The shooting broke the silence and tranquility which Mampang  and its neighboring barangays have been experiencing for more than month after a series of violence in the area that prompted authorities to consider declaring “state of lawlessness”  thereat.

The series of violence in Mampang, Arena Blanco and Talon-Talon was capped by the ambush on a convoy of Mampang baranga officials killing kagawad Victor Dagalea last July.  The Barangay Chairman, Jesus Dulaca, narrowly escaped the death.

The death toll in the series of killings in the three barangays that started early this year rose to 27
