2 councilors shot dead
ARMED men shot dead two municipal councilors yesterday morning in Pres. Quirino town, Sultan Kudarat.
Police identified the victims as Corazon Florida, councilor of Pres. Quirino town and Dindo Legawan, councilor of Panda town in Maguindanao.
According to Chief Insp. Jomar Alexis Yap, spokesperson of PNP Region 12, the two were shot and killed around 10 unidentified armed men at Florida’s African oil plantation in barangay Katico at 10 a.m.
Recovered from the incident were empty shells of M16, M14 armalite rifle, and .45 pistol.
Police are now looking into several motives that triggered the killing.
Hot pursuit operations were launched against the assailants. — John Roson
