drug paraphernalia in Bgy. Silangang Malicboy, here, on Saturday.
Quezon police director Senior Supt. Ronaldo Ylagan said local policemen under Chief Insp. Von June Nuyda seized an Armscor cal. .38 revolver, a Smith & Wesson cal. .38 revolver, a Smith & Wesson cal. .22 revolver and a number of ammunition for the guns.
Ylagan said aside from the guns and bullets, police also seized drug parphernalia shortly before they effect the arrest of Paul Bryan Manuel, 24, and his friend Roy Gariguez, 18.
Prior to the arrest, Nuyda said Manuel’s live-in partner went to the police station accompanied by the barangay chairman and filed a complaint against her boyfriend who reportedly mauled her at 1:30 p.m.
The girl told police that she caught Manuel with his other girlfriend inside their rented house.
“Naabutan ko po sila sa loob ng apartment namin at nang kinompronta ko siya (Manuel) ay sinaktan niya ako kaya nagpasama po ako kay Kapitan dito sa presinto,” Nuyda quoted the girl to have said.
Upon learning of the incident, Nuyda quickly dispatched a team led by his deputy Senior Insp. Fernando Reyes III.
As the lawmen arrived at the apartment with the complainant, they caught Manuel and Gariguez toying guns while the other girl watched them.
Nuyda said the surprised duo quickly threw the guns on the floor where pieces of drug paraphernalia were also scattered.
Quoting Reyes, Nuyda said the suspects were visibly intoxicated with drugs during the arrest.
They were charged with illegal possession of firearms and violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 while a separate case of physical injury was also filed against Manuel.
