At about 9:30 am on Tuesday 25 May a litigant was leaving the Quezon City Courthouse after a hearing with his lawyer. While they were walking along Kalayaan Ave. just outside the QC City Hall Compound, twin riders on a motorcycle came up from behind and shot the litigant in the head killing him. The lawyer was able to escape by running away on foot. In spite of the heavy presence of the police at the QC City Hall compound and the court, no police were able to either assist the victim or apprehend the gunmen, who calmly rode away.
