A MUNICIPAL councilor of Lemery, Batangas, was shot dead 4:20 p.m. yesterday inside a tupada joint in a remote barangay in nearby Calaca town, said a sketchy report received by People’s Tonight.

Councilor Mel Vidal was felled in the head with a bullet of still unknown caliber of firearm. He slumped dead right in the middle of a makeshift cockpit arena in Sitio Pusaw, Bgy. Tamayo, a secluded mountainous barangay in Calaca.

The suspect milled with cockpit aficionados and escaped shortly after the killing.
