‘Kristo’ dead, 3 hurt in separate shootings

A cockpit barker (kristo) was killed while three others were wounded in four separate shooting incidents in the city during the weekend.

 

Killed was Henjie Pantalita y Eking, married, of Salazar Drive, Talon-Talon.

Wounded were Hamja Sahibul y Enriquez of Labuan, Abdul Hajim Daranda y Ladja, 19, a pedicab driver of Tumaga, Randy Ramos y Vidad, 19, of Sibulao and Amsani Saha y Tambuli, married, of Maasin.

Pantalita was shot dead by a gunman inside the Talon-Talon Cockpit shortly before 7 p.m., last Sunday.

Police said that Pantalita was standing inside the cockpit when a gunman appeared and shot him three times at a close range. He sustained bullet wounds in the head and leg and died on the spot.

The gunman escaped after the incident.

Sahibul was shot and wounded by unidentified men while he and his companion were fishing off Labuan at dawn last Sunday. He sustained a bullet wound in the right hand and was taken to the hospital.

Daranda was shot and wounded by unidentified men while he was driving his pedicab along Tumaga road around 8 p.m., last Sunday. He sustained a bullet wound in the abdomen and was taken to the Western Mindanao Medical Center.

Ramos was shot and wounded by a gunman while he was sitting at a waiting shed watching a benefit dance in Sibulao around 11 p.m., last Thursday. He was taken to the Zamboanga Doctors Hospital.

Saha was shot and wounded by Marcelino Alba Sr., 42, and his sons Jomar Alba, 22, and Marcelino Alba Jr., 19, all residents of Tulungatung. The incident took place in Cawit last Saturday afternoon.

Police said Alba and his two sons were walking when Saha blocked their path and punched Jomar in the face and struck Marcelino Sr. with a piece of wood in the back. The elder Alba pulled his gun and shot Saha in the head. He was taken to the hospital.

The suspects were detained at the police station after the incident.
