A kidnapped Canadian child and his Filipino babysitter were freed by their abductors Friday, a day after the kidnapping incident in Pagadian City in southern Philippines, police said.
Superintendent Francis Cariago, spokesman of the Northern Mindanao regional police, said the child and his babysitter, identified as Caroline Remetre, were “received” by Ozamis police at around 3 p.m. Friday.
Cariaga did not elaborate on the circumstances behind the release.
A report on Mindanao Examiner, citing security officials, said the kidnappers demanded P15 million ransom for the safe release of the victims.
