A JOBLESS man was in critical condition at the hospital after he was stabbed by a suspected robber while waiting for a ride,  with his daughter, in Rodriguez, Rizal Sunday night.

Supt. Arthur Masungsong, Rodriguez chief of police, in his report to Rizal police director Senior Supt. Rolando Anduyan said the incident happened at about 6:30 p.m. while victim, Lorenzo Solina Jr., 58, and his daughter, Mary Jane, were waiting for a jeepney ride on their way to Balubad, Nangka, Marikina City.

The suspect, Danilo Bagarino, 42, of Bgy. Burgos, Rodriguez who was armed with a bladed weapon emerged behind and stabbed the victim  several times, hitting him in the neck and body.

After the incident, the suspect fled on foot while the victim’s daughter shouted for help and asked for assistance from a nearby barangay hall whose personnel arrested him.

The victim was brought to Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center in Marikina City for medical treatment while the suspect was detained, facing murder charges.
