The fatality was identified as Salip Halip Bunawan, married. He sustained bullet wounds in the body and died on the spot.

Initial investigation disclosed that Bunawan was having a conversation with his friend along the road around 4 p.m. when a gunman surfaced and shot him at close range without much ado.

The killer escaped after the incident while residents reported it to the police.

Witnesses said it was their first time to see the killer in the place.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin Deocampo disclosed that he and his men have already gathered information on the shooting and are following up a lead.

A source said that Bunawan brought his PUJ to the shop for engine trouble shooting.

It was learned that Bunawan had figured earlier in a vehicular accident with another vehicle.
