Japanese national shot dead

MANILA, Philippines – A 40-year-old Japanese national was shot dead by two unidentified gunmen in Makati City Friday night.

Police Officer 3 Ariel Noriega said Kasei Yamashia was declared dead on arrival at the Makati Medical Center.

Police said that at about 8:15 p.m., Yamashia was driving a black Honda Civic (WQQ-901), with companions Agnes Revilla and Daisy Mula as passengers.

They stopped at a red light at the corner of Pasay Road and Evangelista street. The gunmen, riding a motorcycle, drew near and shot Yamashia. The attackers fled, leaving Revilla and Mula unhurt. Noriega said they are conducting a follow-up investigation.
