THE BODY of a Japanese businessman found Wednesday evening at the back of the Manila Central Post Office was identified on Friday as Yuichiro Matsutani, 35, of Kyoto, Japan. The victim was shot dead by an unidentified gunman at 9 p.m. on November 24, along the sidewalk of Muelle del Rio Street in Quiapo. Found at the crime scene were two deformed slugs of a gun of an unknown caliber, a ball cap and a silver necklace with a crucifix. Records from the Manila Police District homicide section said Matsutani had to be identified by representatives of the Japan Embassy in the Philippines since he did not have any documents on him. The Manila Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Intelligence Division is working with the International Criminal Investigation Division of the National Police Agency of Japan in the investigation of the case.—Jaymee T.
