A MALE Iranian national is now in critical condition after being shot by a couple of motorcycle-riding suspects cum snatchers yesterday morning in Sampaloc, Manila.
Victim Name Ghodabi, 25, of 10-A Tower 2, New Manila, Quezon City, was said to be standing at the corner of Legarda and Bustillos Streets in Sampaloc when the incident took place at 11:25 a.m.
The suspects aboard a motorcycle reportedly stopped and snatched the victim’s necklace. On instinct, the victim tried to resist and was shot in the stomach at close range.
The suspects, who sped away toward Sta. Mesa once the victim fell, are still unidentified. Their motorcycle was plateless.
Police, meanwhile, said the suspects may also be the ones who only recently shot a retired cop after snatching the latter’s bracelet, while he was seated inside his car and heating up its engine, while the vehicle was parked near his home in Sta. Cruz, Manila.
The victim in the prior incident that took place four days ago, identified as ret. Senior Inspector Cresencio Viray, 58, is still recovering at a hospital after he sustained a gunshot wound in the right knee.
