KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines – Unidentified gunmen shot dead an Indian national and wounded another in President Quirino town, Sultan Kudarat province on Thursday, police said Friday. 

Town police chief Senior Inspector Celestino Saniel said Charmjewd Singh, a money lender, died while being treated in a hospital. Another Indian national, Sirgit Singh, was wounded. It was not clear if the two Indians were related. 

Saniel said the victims were riding in tandem on a motorcycle from Buluan, Maguindanao when they were shot by the suspects, who were also riding in tandem on another motorcycle. Carlo Agamon, Inquirer Mindanao
