CEBU, Philippines – The husband of Cantao-an, Naga City Barangay Captain Fe Gudoy was shot dead by three unidentified men the other night in the said area.
Florante Gudoy, 40, attended the victory party of Mayor Valdermar Chiong along with his wife, when their vehicle was overtaken by a motorcycle with three men on board.
One of the men then fired a single shot, which hit Florante’s left arm. The bullet then hit the left part of his body.
Chiong’s victory party was held at the Naga City Hall. The killing happened at around 10 o’clock in the evening, near the couple’s house.
PO2 Ken Cabrera, desk officer of the Naga City Police Station, said a barangay tanod was also on board the couple’s Ford Everest, driven by Florante.
“Tulo ni ang mga suspek nga nag-angkasay unya ang naa sa tunga nga naglingkod maoy nipusil ni Florante,” PO2 Cabrera said. (There were three men on board the motorcycle and it was the man in the middle who fired the gun.)
The perpetrators, who immediately fled the area, are still unidentified and at large.
Florante was not able to reach the South General Hospital alive.
PO2 Miguel Castañares said they discovered one empty shell of a .45 caliber from the crime scene.
Authorities said that personal grudge or politics could be the reason for the crime, but they have yet to make any conclusion. (FREEMAN NEWS)
