A HOLDUPPER was killed by an angry mob after he held up the passengers of a public utility jeepney as it was cruising Sta. Ana, Manila early yesterday morning.

The suspect was described to be between 18 and 20 years old, around 5-foot-4 tall and skinny. He was wearing a black jersey top and white shorts.

PO3 Charles John Duran of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section said the incident took place at around 3 a.m. at the corner of Tenorio and A. Francisco Streets in  Sta. Ana.

The suspect, along with a couple of cohorts, reportedly held up the passengers of PUJ  and then casually walked away.

Unknown to them, the holdup was witnessed by barangay tanod Reggie Pangilinan, 37.

He blew his whistle in an attempt to stop the holduppers and this alarmed the residents nearby.

Moments later, Pangilinan said he learned that one of the holduppers have been caught by angry residents who mauled him to death.
