PIKIT, North Cotabato—A municipal councilor was shot and killed by still unidentified men riding on a motorcycle at around 8:30 a.m. Monday, police said.

Kusain Boy Alba, a member of the Sangguniang Bayan and chair of its peace and order committee, was driving a pickup truck on his way to the municipal hall when he was attacked at the boundary of Barangays Batolawan and Poblacion, Insp. Elias Dandan, town police chief, said.

“He was … to attend the weekly flag-raising ceremony when shot three times by the suspects who tailed him,” Dandan said.
