MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato, Philippines – A grenade exploded inside the compound of China International Water and Electric Corp. at Barangay Sadaan, Midsayap ini North Cotabato early Sunday morning.
According to authorities, the perpetrators were on-board a pick-up vehicle.
China International is the contractor assigned in the road rehabilitation project in the area.
No one was hurt in the explosion, which occurred around 12:47 a.m. on Sunday.
Police investigation revealed that an extortion letter was received by the company and was reported to Midsayap police.
Police said the incident was not related to the midterm elections on Monday.
