MANILA, Philippines — A grenade was lobbed at the home of a councilor of Kabacan town in North Cotabato Thursday evening but caused no casualties.

Kabacan police chief Leo Ajero said Councilor George Manuel, who is seeking reelection, was not home when two men on a motorcycle hurled the grenade around 6:30 p.m.

The explosion destroyed the balcony of Manuel’s house.
