MANILA – A 68-year-old Frenchman was shot dead in front a casino in Pasay City on Friday morning, police said.
The victim, identified as Pierre Paul Hofman, was walking with 2 companions in front of the Heritage Casino on Roxas Boulevard when 2 still-unidentified men suddenly appeared and grabbed his shoulder bag containing around 750 euros (around P40,000).
Hofman resisted, prompting one of the robbers to shoot him, police said.
The suspects fled on a motorcycle.
The victim was brought to the San Juan de Dios Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Police are still investigating the case.
