A 26-YEAR-OLD fraternity member was fatally shot while he was sleeping on top of a table outside his house in barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City.
Reylord Jason Durano sustained a gunshot wound in the head. The victim was a member of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity, police said.
Police said no one came forward to describe what happened.
The victim’s mother, Emma, told police his son slept inside the house but transferred outside past midnight yesterday.
Emma said she ran out of the house after hearing three gunshots and found her bloodied son.
Police are still investigating the motive of the attack.
The mother told police that last December, her son figured in a fistfight with two men identified only as Paklay and Kikirk.
Emma said his son was out on bail for a homicide case. Reylord was accused of killing his uncle in 1994.
The victim was also jailed at the Lapu-Lapu City Jail for illegal possession of a firearm.
Follow-up investigation will be made to identify the attacker, police said./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
