A fishpond owner was shot dead by a gunman posing as a motorcycle dealer near the victim’s fishpond in Dagupan City Friday, police said Saturday.
Dagupan police head Superintendent Chris Abrajano said the incident occurred at 11 a.m. Friday near the fishpond of the victim initially identified as Melanio Palolong, 62.
“Wala pa tayong pagkakilanlan ng suspect. Pero may witness tayong nakuha, isa lang ang nakita nating suspect,” Abrajano said in an interview on dzBB radio.
He said their initial investigation showed the gunman pretended to be a motorcycle dealer, then approached the victim and shot him.
Abrajano said the victim was killed on the spot. He sustained gunshot wounds mostly in the chest.
“Hindi siya umabot ng pagamutan, may multiple gunshot wounds (He died before he could be brought to the hospital, due to multiple gunshot wounds),” he said.
