The victim identified a certain Hilario de los Santos, also known as Larry Font, owner of Font Restaurant situated in the city of Isabela and at the same time owner of the Farmland Resort in Barangay Lanote. The kidnap took place around 7:45 pm when Mr. Fort was on his way to his resort. On Thursday night December 16, 2010, after the freed of Celia Sosas a school principal of Baas elementary school while until now Rose Baranda is still on the hand of the kidnappers.
It was learned that the kidnappers hit Mr. De los Santos when he resisted and days before the incident happen showed that some of the kidnappers appears to be a customer of the resort to monitor his movements.
The team learned that several threats from the lawless elements, which result to the limitation of his visits at his establishment – Senior Superintendent Cristeto Rey Gonzalodo, Basilan Police Director
In an update news of this kidnapping. The getaway van of Farmland Resort owner was discovered by the constituents of Barangay Maligue in a Nursery area kilometer 13 at Upper Maligue, Isabela City Basilan Province. But surprisingly the van was torched by the kidnappers instead of carnapping it, I think because they want to erase any evidence that will be possibly seen.
In an interview with Barangay Captain of Maligue, Hon. Alejandro L. Lacbao regarding the security of the area, he stressed out that Barangay Maligue is peaceful barangay and guarded by Cafgu’s but there are some areas which is known to be channel walk of some bandits like Nursery.
Co. Nicanor Dolojon, Commander of Special Operation Task Force Basilan believed that the kidnappers belong to an Abu Sayyaf group of Puruji Indama.
The Authorities is doing their best for the speedy arrest of the kidnappers.
