MANILA – A 60-year-old farmer was gunned down by an unidentified suspect in Ilagan, Isabela Tuesday morning, police said.

The victim, Loreto Valdez, was standing in front of his house in Brgy. Bigao when he was shot.

Valdez was rushed to a hospital but died a few hours later.

Valdez is the 4th victim of a shooting incident in Region 2 since the election gun ban was implemented.

Last week, the barangay chairman of San Pablo, Isabela was also shot dead during the town fiesta.

Other incidents of shooting were reported in Nueva Vizcaya and Cagayan. — Report from Rachel Itchon, dzMM
