A family of four was massacred in Masbate province, police said Friday.
A statement from the Masbate provincial police identified the fatalities as Jimmy Dublin, his wife Elena, and their two children–Jason and Gerald, reported to be 13 and 9 years old, respectively.
The report, however, did not say how the family members were killed.
The two other members of the Dublin family, Jenelyn and John, are now under custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development after they managed to escape the attack.
According to the police, a concerned citizen told Pio V. Corpuz police at around 6 a.m. about seeing a dead and bloodied woman outside a home at Sitio Malamag.
Responding police found Elena outside her home, while they found Jimmy and the sons inside.
Police launched a pursuit operation to arrest the suspect, who the report said allegedly displayed “abnormal behavior.”
However, authorities did not say who the suspect was to avoid compromising the operations.
