A family driver was killed while his companion was in critical condition after a rookie cop shot them during a traffic altercation Sunday evening in Taguig City.
Vindy “Vhon-vhon” Porras, 29, of Blk. 3, Lot 15, Villa Miranda, Palingon Tipas, was rushed to Taguig-Pateros District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival due to multiple gunshot wounds in the body while his companion, Israel Besmanus, 33, of Blk. 3, Lot 17, Villa Miranda who sustained gunshot wound in right chest is still in critical condition at Ospital ng Makati.
The suspect, PO1 Abbilol Saiphar, 28, presently assigned at Regional Public Safety Battalion of National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), surrendered to his superior after the incident, along with him the 9mm pistol he used in the killing. He was detained at the Taguig police detention center after his superior turned him over for investigation.
Investigation conducted by PO3 Ricky Ramos and PO2 Amado Victor Bieto of Taguig Police Homicide Section showed the incident happened at 6:45 p.m. at the corner of C-6 Road and ML Quezon Avenue in Lower Bicutan.
Police said Saiphar was driving a motorcycle along the southbound lane of C-6 Road when he was involved in minor collision with a Mitsubishi Adventure (WKI-957) driven by Porras.
When both vehicles pulled over, Porras, allegedly armed with a bladed weapon alighted and tried to stab Saiphar but missed.
The cop, sensing imminent danger to his life drew his gun and shot Porras five times.
Police said Besmanus also alighted and allegedly armed with bladed weapon tried to stab thepolice officer but he was also shot in the chest.
Taguig police officer-in-charge Supt. Annie Bodanio ordered an impartial investigation into the case and asked his probers to gather witnesses that will corroborate the suspect’s allegation.
