SCIENCE City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija — A former inmate, who just got out of jail recently, was gunned down by an unidentified bonnet-wearing man near the Iglesia Ni Cristo Church here Wednesday night. Police identified the fatality as Adriano Cabrera, 32, alias Unyor, single, of Bgy. Curva, this city. He was formerly detained and released from jail after being charged with robbery and carnapping. Police said they received a call from a concerned citizen that a shooting incident occurred near an INC church in Bgy. Bantug between 7:30 and 8 p.m. When police responded, they saw the victim already dead with multiple gunshot wounds in the body. The victim was seen running down the Maharlika Highway and being chased by a bonnet-wearing man, described as 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-6 tall and of medium built. Witnesses said the victim ran towards the railroad tracks followed by the gunman, who shot him several times until he fell facedown. Police are still investigating the incident.
